Muffin Pan Sizes: What Size Is Standard?

A household name and a part of everyone’s childhood, muffins are quite easy to bake compared to some of its non-forgiving counterparts.

Oftentimes, what makes or breaks an amazing muffin is the muffin pan you’re using. And muffin pan size plays an important role here.

If you’re making a “melt in your mouth chocolate brownie’ with fresh nuts and berries, a good muffin pan is your best bet here. But often people ask; What size of a muffin pan do I use? Are muffin pans any different than cupcake pans?

Well, the answer to the first question is what we will discuss today. The answer to the second question is a strong, positive affirmation.

Different Muffin Pan Sizes

Typically muffin pans come in 3 sizes, ranging from making 6 muffins to 24 muffins at once in various materials from non-stick to silicone. So which one should you choose? Well, to be honest, it entirely depends on what you want to have, what size, and how many. Here is the distribution of the sizes:

Standard

The most sold muffin pans are the standard muffin pans. Available almost at every house and can be found to buy at any local shop, these muffin pans can make 12 muffins at once. Each muffin cups of the pan can hold up to ½ cup of batter and make standard size muffins for you and your loved ones.

Mini

If a standard size muffin is too big for you and you want to have small bite-sized one to squash your urges to leave your diet, mini muffin pans are the right choice for you.

These muffin trays can bake 24 muffins at once, and each muffin cup can hold ⅛ to ¼ cup of batter of muffin. And these cups create mini-sized muffins for you and whomever you want to offer.

Jumbo

If you’re not satisfied with the standard size of muffins, then you should opt for the jumbo-sized muffin tray.

The muffin cups are relatively larger than the standard trays, designed to hold between ½ cup and 1 whole cup of batter, producing significantly larger muffins. Since the baking cups are larger, the jumbo muffin pans can only produce 6 muffins at any one time.

Muffin Pan Material

Just like the way determining the right size for you when considering which muffin pan to buy is important, taking a closer look at the material being used is equally important.

Muffin pans come in different styles, from aluminum with various non-stick coatings to silicone. Even the coatings have variety, so it’s very important to do a little research before deciding on the type of muffin pan that would be best for you.

Aluminum

This is the most common material for your muffin pans. They are lightweight, and conduct heat fairly easily and provides an even conduction for even baking of your muffins.

Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel Muffin Pan

Known for its durability, they may not have the evenest conduction like aluminum, but they last the most. Just ask your grandmother. The stainless steel increases the durability, making your muffin pan-resistant to rust and scratches.

Silicone

Made of lightweight and flexible rubber, silicone has a lot of advantages. Starting from the fact that this requires no extra coating, it survives up to 500-degree Fahrenheit in heat. And there’s no need for parchment paper when you’re baking as greasing the silicone is enough.

Coated Steel

It’s known for its inexpensiveness, so if you’re not sure about baking yet, this could be your budget-friendly option. However, this does require sturdy coating as the steel itself is not stainless, which can be problematic if the coating is susceptible to easy deterioration. This brings us to the type of coatings.

Which Coating Is Best for My Muffin Pans?

With any baking pans, the coating is necessary (except when the material is silicone) to ensure proper removal of the food from the tin/pan, and the cake is intact.

The non-stick coating on the muffin pan removes the need to resort to extra parchment papers as the ‘non-stick’ literally means the food would not stick with the pans. Now there are different types of non-tick for each material that helps to ensure this, and they are:

Teflon

The scientific name being polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), Teflon is known for its smooth and slick surface.

However, even with the advantage of science helping it to be the perfect non-stick coat, the disadvantage of Teflon is that it breaks apart over 500°F, making it risky to use in any high heat requiring baking process. But, for a typical muffin recipe, it will do alright.

Ceramic

Ceramic Muffin Pan

Ceramic is very eco friendly and non-toxic as well, as the carbon footprint of this material is fairly low compared to its counterparts. However, the material can turn out to be less durable to overuse and be expensive than other coating options.

Superhydrophobic

Resistant to water, superhydrophobic is the newest type of coating in the market. The fact that it’s resistant to water makes it perfect for ensuring that the muffin doesn’t stick to it while baking.

How Are Muffin Pans Different from Cupcake Pans?

The makings of muffins and cupcakes are often quite similar. However, there are little differences that distinguish one from the other.

Starting with the deserts themselves, cupcakes are topped with frosting while muffins have that sugar glaze on top, making them very fulfilling compared to the fanciness of the cupcakes. With the process, cupcakes require its batter to be silky smooth, soft and heavily beaten.

While muffins are fine with lumpy batter, they are more forgiving. Thus, when you bake them, the pans for muffins are deeper, and the edges are straighter while the pans for cupcakes are more shallow and have slanted edges.

Conclusion

Hope now you know everything you need to know about muffin pan sizes. Let me know in the comments if you have any more queries.

Pan Pizza vs. Deep Dish Pizza: Which Is Better and Why?

Pan pizza vs. deep dish pizza is a never-ending battle. If you’re someone who has all the pizza ingredients at home, but can’t decide which one to go for as you don’t know which is better, then this post is for you.

Almost every home cook, at some point, has wondered how these two exciting types of pizzas vary from each other. In our opinion, the superiority of one over another is entirely subjective. That is why we have decided to brainstorm the contrasts between them.

So, let’s cut to the chase and talk about how exactly the two pizzas differ from each other, and which one is best for you.

Comparing Pan Pizza and Deep Dish Pizza

Pan Pizza vs Deep Dish Pizza

Let’s pit them against each other and compare their features.

Crust and Dough

Here, we’ll point out the differences between their crust and dough.

Pan Pizza

The crust of pan pizza is slightly thicker than traditional pizza but very close in taste. And the dough of pan pizzas is mostly prepared with powdered milk. Therefore, when they are cooked, they have a light char to the bottom while still maintaining the doughy consistency.

Pan pizzas have a chewy, soft, and fluffy dough and thicker crust compared to the deep dish pizzas. This is because the yeast in the dough of pan pizzas gets sufficient time to rest.

Pan Pizza

Deep Dish Pizza

Unlike the dough of pan pizzas, the dough of deep dish is only about half an inch thick. It’s pasted all around the bottom and wall of the deep metal dish which it is prepared in. The dough gets moderately crunchy when cooked.

Deep dish pizza doughs taste quite buttery and often contain cornmeal instead of powdered milk. This dough doesn’t require a lot of resting time and can be taken straight to the oven.

Deep Dish Pizza

Marinara

Another prominent difference between the two pizzas lies in their preparation of marinara. Even though they are the products of the same ingredients, here are some of the variations among them.

Pan Pizza

The marinara is prepared with finely pureed tomatoes and a combination of sweetness, spice, and oregano. And the marinara is required to be spread directly and evenly on the dough. Therefore, the consistency is quite lowered compared to the deep dish pizza marinara.

Deep Dish Pizza

Deep dish pizza has a marinara that’s closely related to a chunky tomato sauce.

You will have to fill up your deep-dish pizza with a lion share of marinara, cheese, and other ingredients such as herbs and meat. Therefore, it’s not in your best interest to go for the smoothest puree while preparing this marinara.

The sauce comes after the toppings in a deep dish pizza rather than directly on the dough. This is because you have to prevent your dough from becoming wet and soggy. So if you’re going for deep dish pizzas expect quite a lot of marinara and cheese.

Arrangement of Ingredients

Many people mistake this difference as a negligible one. It’s not, you have our word.

You can easily identify a pan pizza by the fact that the marinara sits right above the dough, followed by the cheese and other toppings.

As for a deep-dish pizza, the chunky marinara is all over the house, but not before the cheese. The cheese comes right after the dough, followed by the sauce and toppings. The sauce is then again spread over the topping for the finishing touch.

Cooking Process

In this section, you’ll learn the cooking process of the pan pizza.

  • Bake at 420°F for 25 minutes.

Serve hot after garnishing with grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Pan Pizza or Deep Dish Pizza: Which One Is Best for You?

You can never go wrong with either of the choices. That’s why we recommend you to try them both before choosing your favorite.

If you’re a fan of traditional pizzas and would like to try something out of your aisle, but close, then pan-pizzas are your go-to. But for someone who wants to go for something that’s loaded with marinara, cheese, and toppings, deep dish pizzas are going to be their best bet.

Lastly, it all comes down to personal preference. Game up your pizza-making skills and surprise your family and friend with your favorite pizza.

How to Cut Granite Countertops for Sink

Granite countertops are a thing of beauty when they are cut and installed properly. But it is a feat that is very difficult to achieve as granite is quite a hard stone. Also, it is quite expensive, so chipping it will hurt your investment.

However, it is not impossible if you have the proper gear and a ‘can do’ attitude. So, let’s take a look at how to cut granite countertop for the sink.

Things You Will Need

The necessary things you will need to go through with the process are as follows:

How to Cut Granite Countertops for Sink

  • Diamond Blade Equipped Circular Saw (Wet or Dry)– Regardless of dry or wet saw, it must have a diamond blade as it is durable and strong and able to cut through dense granite.
  • Ear Plugs– Cutting granite with a saw can be pretty loud, so it is better to put on earplugs.
  • Safety Goggles– Cutting through granite will generate a lot of dust, which will cause irritation in your eyes if you do not wear goggles.
  • Measuring Tape or Ruler– It is very important to measure your sink and then place those measurements on the granite countertops so that they align perfectly. After measuring the granite, mark it with tape or marker.
  • (Permanent) Marker– You can use a marker as an extra guide to follow the line for cutting granite countertops for your sink.
  • Dust Mask– Inhaling dust can endanger your health, so you must wear a dust mask while cutting granite countertops for sinks.
  • Painter’s Tape– In order to mark your measurement, you can use painter’s tape. It is very easy to remove and will allow you to get your measurements accurate before cutting.
  • CClamps– To prevent the granite slabs from moving, use C-Clamps so that they remain in place.
  • Sturdy and Spacious Work Surface– Keep granite slabs or blocks in a sturdy and spacious work area. Also, make sure not to place it on top of a workbench that moves.
  • Angle Grinder (With Diamond Coated Grinder)– This is an absolutely necessary tool that will allow you to even the sawed edges of the granite countertop.

How to Cut Granite Countertops for Sink

Now, we’ll tell you about the entire process in detail. Keep reading.

How to Cut Granite Countertops for Sink

Step 1: Put on Safety Gears

Wear all your safety gear before starting with the granite countertops. Remember to remove all of your jewelry and roll back long sleeves for further safety. You can also wear a cap to prevent dust from getting in your hair.

Step 2: Get a Secure Workspace

Move the granite countertops into a spacious, stable, and durable workbench or area. Secure the countertops with C-Clamps so that it is safe to saw it.

Step 3: Carefully Measure the Sink

Prepare a paper template of your sink and place it on the countertop. Trace the lines with a marker and place tape in order to prevent chipping while cutting the granite countertops.

Step 4: Prepare for Dust

If you are cutting it dry, be ready for a massive amount of dust. Also, you need to be extremely careful while cutting it with a circular saw; otherwise, it might get chipped. And if you are cutting it using the wet method, you must ensure water is constantly running on the granite slab.

Keep in mind that it will produce muddy water, but it will also keep the blade cool and prevent chipping.

Cut Granite Countertops for Sink

Step 5: Make Sure There’s Room for Error

To give yourself some room for error, cut about 1-2 mm inside the measured line. You can always cut and make it perfect later.

But if you cut from the line, you may not be able to rectify your mistakes later on. Make shallow cuts along the lines. Do not force the saw and plunge in the granite slabs. Remember to stand on the side whenever you are sawing through the granite. For further safety, use two hands greater grip on the saw.

Step 6: Keep Your Eyes on the Saw

Never look away from the saw as it may result in missing the lines or even injury. Always check whether you are cutting exactly like the lines drawn on the slab.

Step 7: Smooth the Edges

After you are done cutting the outline of the sink, now you have to smooth the sharp edges. For this, use the tip of the angle grinder with a diamond grinder wheel along the edges to remove sharpness and scratches. Make sure that you do not push the tip inside the edge as it may damage the sinkhole on the slab.

Step 8: Start Polishing

Once you have thoroughly smoothed the edges with the angle grinder, you can polish it by replacing the grinding wheel and attaching buffing wheels to it.

Final Thoughts

Many people do not want to go through cutting their own sink countertops, rather they prefer to pay quite a lot of money and avoid the hassle. But you can save a lot of money just by applying a little elbow grease and buying some tools.

By applying the steps above, you, too, can cut granite countertops for sinks like a pro.

How to Clean a Blanco Composite Granite Sink

Unlike the common stainless sink, a granite sink exudes elegance and makes your kitchen luxurious. And Blanco is renowned for its kitchen and bathroom fixtures since 1925. One of their well-known products is a composite granite sink used by restaurateurs, chefs, designers, etc.

Composite sinks are less expensive than all-natural granite as they are made of acrylic resin and granite stone dust that has been pressed. However, as time passes, they can become dull and get stained. So it is very important for you to know how to clean a Blanco composite granite sink properly.

Things to Avoid When Cleaning a Blanco Composite Granite Sink

  • Harsh chemicals like bleach or sink cleaners containing ammonia
  • Steel wool
  • Abrasive brush or sponge

It is important to avoid the materials listed above because they will cause lasting damage to your granite composite sink. Harsh chemicals will penetrate the materials and cause erosion while using hard bristles to clean the sink will leave scratches on the surface.

Cleaning Process of a Blanco Composite Granite Sink

Let’s talk about different cleaning processes that you can employ.

For Everyday Cleaning

For preventing stains from becoming permanent in the sink, it is important to clean it every day after use.

So mix liquid soap and water together and with a soft sponge or brush, clean the granite composite sink. Thoroughly rinse the sink with clean water. In order to prevent soapy water spots on the sink, wipe the sink with a soft dry cloth.

Cleaning a Blanco Composite Granite Sink

For Simple Stains

To get rid of stains, simple water and soap may not be enough. You can follow any one of the two methods below:

Mild Abrasive Cleaners

You can apply some very mild yet abrasive cleaners to a cotton scouring pad (remember to not put the cleaner directly on the spot) and gently scrub the stained area until it is gone. Then wash the sink to get rid of all trace of the cleaner. Finally, gently wipe the sink.

Household Items

If you do not want to use any industrial chemicals at all, you can look through your pantry and find some ordinary household items and make your own homemade cleaner.

Mix water and white vinegar in exactly half and half portion then spray the stain with the mixture. You can also make a paste with baking soda and some water and smear it on the stained spot. Then thoroughly rinse the sink and wipe it a dry cloth.

Blanco Composite Granite Sink

For Tough Stains

For very stubborn stains, prepare a mixture of 50% bleach with 50% water. Make sure that you close the drain of the sink and let the mixture rest for about an hour in the sink. Next, drain the solution and scrub the sink with a soft brush. Rinse with water and wipe off all the water.

Another way to clean tough stains is to use a mixture of whiting powder and hydrogen peroxide. First, read the instruction of the whiting powder carefully and make a thick paste by mixing the powder with hydrogen peroxide. Second, cover the stained area with the paste of about ½ inch thickness.

Third, carefully cover the area with plastic wrap. Fourth, wait for 24 hours for the mixture to get the stain out of the sink. Fifth, remove the paste using a soft cloth or sponge. Finally, thoroughly rinse with water and wipe with a dry cloth or paper towel.

In order to keep your sink shiny, pour about a tablespoon of mineral oil on a soft rubbing pad or cloth, and then rub it all over the sink in a circular pattern. After buffing it for a minute or two, wipe away the excess with a dry cloth to reveal a shiny sink.

Final Thoughts

Many homeowners are now choosing to replace ordinary stainless steel sink in favor of composite granite sink. There is no better brand than Blanco as they have more than 90 years of experience in making kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Having a Blanco granite sink puts you in a league of chefs, interior designers, etc.

However, regular use of the sink may cause it to be stained. Furthermore, the usage of harsh chemical cleaners and steel wool may cause severe damage to the natural luster of the sink. But if you follow the methods stated above, then your Blanco granite sink will remain in spotless condition year after year.

How to Build a Cabinet for a Farmhouse Sink

Some of you out there are trying to redesign different parts of your house on your own so that you can liven the space up a bit. But doing DIY projects at home is not always the easiest, especially if you don’t already have some type of experience with it.

DIY cabinet for a farmhouse style sink might be the next thing on your to-do list. But making the cabinet all by yourself is not going to be the easiest task in the house. So, to make your life a little bit easier, we are going to give you a little tutorial on how to build a cabinet for a farmhouse sink?

Things You Need

The first thing we need to tackle before you get to the task in hand is to figure out all the items we will be needing when we make the cabinet. Make sure you have all these on hand and don’t have to stop midway to make a run for the hardware store because you forgot to get something. This will delay the timeline.

A Cabinet for a Farmhouse Sink

Also, these measurements might not be the same for everyone, some might have a bigger sink and area so you would need a bigger cabinet, while some might have something smaller. So, we decided to go with the average sink and area size. You may adjust to your needs.

  • 3/4” plywood, this is needed for the bottom and the sides of the cabinet
  • 3/4” 1×4 pre-primed finger joint board, this will go towards the front
  • 3/4” 1×2 pre-primed finger joint board, this too would be needed for the front for design on the door
  • 3/4” 1×3 pre-primed finger joint board
  • 1/2” plywood panel for the back
  • 2×4 boards for base and support
  • A farmhouse-style sink
  • A faucet to go with it

What Do You Have to Do?

You will need to be a little patient as the task in hand is going to require a bit of time and precision, and when done correctly, you will see the great result in how the sink and the cabinet look at the end of it all.

A Cabinet for a Farmhouse Sink

Step 1: Build the Base

The very first thing you are going to have to do for the cabinet is to build the base. It is important you do this step before anything else as all the other pieces are going to go on top of it, so the base is required.

You have to take the 2×4 pieces of wood and then trim them to your need. Then you have to measure how high up you want the cabinet to be from the floor and the diameters of the area you will be building it.

Once you have everything measured and cut to proportion, you can form the box-like structure. You will need to screw them together, so they stay intact. Once you place it inside, you also need to screw it to the sides as you don’t want there to be any movements once you build the cabinet.

Step 2: Place the Bottom and Side Plywoods

Once the base is done, you will need to cut the 3/4” piece of plywood for the bottom part of the cabinet. The measurements need to be done based on the area it has to be fit into. When you have measured and cut everything properly, you must place the plywood on top of the base and screw it into place.

After the bottom has been done, you are going to repeat the step for the sides as well. You must measure the far up the sink is going to be placed as well as how deep the cabinet is going to be. Only then you’ll have the correct measurements for the sides.

Step 3: Build Base Support for Sink

When you have the bottom, and the sides are done, you have to build support for the sink. You need this to be sturdy as the sink is going to sit on it, and a weak base might end up in a disaster for you.

Again you have to take the 2×4 pieces of board and cut them the needed size. You need four pieces of this. Two of them need to be screwed vertically on the ends of the right panel, and the other two need to go on the opposite end.

You should test out if the length is right for the sink before you complete building the whole cabinet, you would have to tear everything down and rebuild it if things are not done right.

Step 4: Make a Frame for the Front

Now that you have completed everything on the inside, you need to make the front part of the cabinet. This is where you will be needing all the pre-primed finger joint boards.

The 1×3 piece is going to go right infant of the area where the sink rests on the support. And the 1×2 pieces will go on the two sides of the cabinet, and lastly, the 1×4 is going to go at the bottom.

Just make sure you measure them correctly, you will be able to trim it if it is longer than needed, but cutting it too short would mean you need to use another piece.

Step 5: Build the Door

Once the frame is done, now you must make a door that would complete the cabinet.

You will need 5 pieces of wood for this job. One is going to be a 1/2” hardwood plywood, which will go as the center panel. Two of the 1×3 board will be for the sides and then the other two for the top and bottom.

The centerpiece needs to smaller in both length and width than what is actually needed for the door. This is because the boards on the sides and the top and bottom will make up for the measurement there. You also need to make two holes on all four sides of the wood.

Now you must attach the top and bottom pieces to the centerpiece. Make sure the edges mesh well together. You also need to make a hole on each end of the boards. And finally, you have to attach the side pieces. You have to make sure it all forms a rectangle, and no side is longer than the other.

And with that, you are done making the door.

Build a Cabinet for a Farmhouse Sink

Step 6: Paint the Front

The next thing on your to-do list would be to paint the front of the cabinet. You can choose whichever color you like. Just make sure the paint you pick out is right for wooden surfaces. You don’t want it to start chipping after some time.

Step 7: Install the Sink and Faucet

By now, you are done making the cabinet, but your job will not be complete if you do not install the sink and faucet as well. Installing the sink should not be very difficult, but you have to follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer to do it perfectly.

As for the faucet, this, too, can be done on your own. But if you are a little confused, you can always take some help from the internet. You might have to make a few holes in the bottom and back of the cabinet for the pipes to be able to go through properly.

And with that, we are done installing our farmhouse style sink cabinet!

Final Words

I know this seems like a lengthy process, but once you are done making the cabinet on your own, you will be very pleased with the outcome, and might even want to take on more projects.

How to Clean the Outside Bottom of a Burnt Pan

The first thing that comes to our mind when we speak of cleaning pans is cleaning the insides. Even though it’s not half as much as difficult as cleaning the outside of a pan, especially if it’s burnt. And that is why we decided to show you easy and effective methods of cleaning the outside bottom of burnt pans.

And the number of methods of cleaning a burnt pan is too many to keep count. But we all know that only a few are truly effective. Let’s dive right in to know how to clean the outside bottom of a burnt pan properly.

Methods to Get Back That Shiny Outside

All of the mentioned methods have been tried and tested. So, we had to cross out many methods, which apparently turned out to be myths.

Among the many cleaning methods on the internet, we only handpicked the ones that truly pay off.

Salt, Vinegar and Baking Soda

Let’s get started with the easiest ones.

Vinegar and Baking Soda

Sprinkling Method

  • Sprinkle a layer of baking soda on the surface you want to be cleaned.
  • Then add a layer of salt atop the baking soda.
  • Spray vinegar on the top to wet the salt and soda.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing it for 5-8 minutes.
  • The grease should come right off. Use a little lemon juice to scrub off the remaining stains.

Paste Method

  • Make a paste using 3 tbsp baking soda, 1 tbsp sea salt, 2 tbsp vinegar.
  • Apply the paste covering all the greasy areas on the outside of your pan.
  • Let it sit to de-grease for at least 10 minutes.
  • Scrub the grease off using no-scratch scrubs, and the grease should come right off, leaving only a little for the labor of arms.
  • This method works best on stainless steel and iron cast pans. Using a no-scratch scrub is important to retain the paint job of your painted pans as well.

Barkeeper’s Friend

Here’s the step-by-step process for you.

  • Get some barkeeper’s friend from your local store.
  • Make a paste out of 3 tbsp barkeeper’s friend, 1 tbsp water.
  • Apply the paste onto the greasy area and let it sit for 7-10 minutes.
  • Use a no-scratch scrub to clean the grease off of the pan by scrubbing gently.
  • If the grease is too adamant on staying, then use a balled-up aluminum foil to scrub the outsides.
  • Keep in mind that even though using the aluminum ball is much more convenient for grease removal, it will most likely ruin the painted pans too.

Barkeeper’s friend is a proven method, but make sure to pay attention when scrubbing with aluminum foils to avoid damaging/scratching your favorite cookware.

Fabric Softener

Even though it may not seem the right product for the job, this is one of the most sure-fire ways to get the gunk off of your pan.

  • Turn your pan upside down and pour a sufficient amount of fabric softener to cover all of the greasy surfaces.
  • Boil half a liter of water in another pan and carefully pour it onto the bottom of your dirty pan.
  • You’ll notice a very little forming of foams. That’s a good sign.
  • If you don’t see the gunk to loosen right away, then that’s because your fabric softener isn’t strong enough. In that case, switch softener and try again.
  • If your softener of choice is starting to work, then repeat the process and rinse using hot water a couple more times.

This method works fine but requires some repetition and a little more effort than others. If you’re not willing to put a lot of effort into cleaning, then stand clear of this method.

Calcium Carbonate Cream Cleanser

Another great way to clean the stink from your pans is by using cream cleansers. For best results, look for calcium carbonate cleaning creams in your local supermarket. Here are a few steps you can follow to make the best out of this method.

  • Wet the uneven greasy surface with water and pour cream cleanser on it.
  • Start scrubbing with your scrub of choice until it starts to foam up.
  • Rinse with water and repeat the process 2-3 times.
  • Every time you repeat the process, the grease is supposed to wash off slowly but gradually.
  • Finally, rinse the bowl with hot water carefully so that you don’t burn yourself.
  • If you can still see some oil stains remaining on the surface, take a waterproof sanding paper and give it one last rub.

Tomato Ketchup

The tomato ketchup works the same as the ‘cream cleaner method’ mentioned above. Follow the same steps of the calcium carbonate cleaning to get a squeaky clean bottom of your pan using the sauce. All you need to do is use tomato ketchup instead of the calcium carbonate cleaner

And the acidic properties of the tomato ketchup come in handy in cleaning this mess. Go for this beneficial method if you think you don’t have sufficient materials for the other methods.

Precaution and Tips for Best Results

Here are some precautions that you can take:

  • More products don’t mean better cleaning. So don’t waste your money on products that don’t work for you.
  • Always let your cleaning agents sit on the grease for at least 10 minutes after application so that it can soak and soften it.
  • Be careful while handling acidic products as they may irritate your skin.
  • Do not pour hot water directly onto your hand to avoid burn injuries.
  • If any soap or cleaning agent enters your eyes, consider getting medical help.

A burnt-bottom pan cooks almost the same as a new pan. So, lastly, it all comes down to your preference for aesthetics.

Types of Faucets That Work Well with Farmhouse Sink

Here are the kinds of faucets that you want to know about.

Old-World Faucet

One of the most popular choices for a farmhouse sink is the old-world faucet. This goes well with the whole theme you have going on in your area. Along with that, you would be able to get a faucet with a more traditional and classic look, which includes a lot of elegant curves.

The faucet has a straight bar that supports the bridge at a right angle, and there is a ball joint connecting the two together. This would allow you to rotate the bridge to your liking as well. All in all, you will be getting a piece that works well with the sink and is highly functional.

Bridge Faucet

When you think of farmhouse style sinks, the image you conjure in your mind is of something rustic, which you would find in older or more classic households. But they are back in, and one kind of faucet you would want to pair up with the sink is bridge faucet.

It is a more traditional style and design of faucets with an arched bridge that takes both hot and cold water. There are two knobs on either side which control the temperature of the running water. The design is something you would want to add as an accent to the decor present in the kitchen or bathroom.

As the bridge is very wide, you will find this to be very accommodating if you place this in the middle of the two sides of the sink, so you will be able to access it by rotating it from one side to the other depending on what you need to do at the moment.

Having said that, it would also look just as good if you want to install it more towards the side. So you can use one side of the sink for washing while the other could be used for drying the dishes.

Restaurant Style Faucet

The restaurant-style faucet is also known as the pull-out faucet. They do not look classic or traditional in any sense, you would get more of a modern vibe from this design and style. The functionality of this type of faucet would also give it the added industrial edge.

And the bridge of the faucet can be pulled up or down as per your preferences. This additional feature of the faucet makes this a very good option for cleaning up dishes. You would also be able to minimize the amount of water splashing out on the floor or the counter around it.

Modern Faucet

I really wouldn’t be able to go on about faucets and not mention the modern ones we tend to use so often these days. Even though most farmhouse sinks are more on the classic or rustic side, there are, however, some that have a modern look to them. For these types of sinks, you would much rather end up using a modern faucet.

They have a nice and high arch like most of the traditional faucets, but there is more functionality in this one, and the rotation of the bridge is much easier. You can move it around to your liking.

Along with that, the faucet only has one knob that can be twisted in two directions, this will help you to adjust the temperature of the water. So, with this, there is no use for two knobs.

Faucet with Side Spray

There are a few faucets that come with a few extra features, and this is one of those faucets. This is a good option for those who do not want a pull-out or pull-down faucet but still want to enjoy the facility of one. The side spray will go out all the way and help out with the dishwashing.

Wall Mount Faucet

Most of the faucets we have spoken about till now are all installed to the countertop, but this one is a little different as it is attached to the wall right behind the sink. This will be a great option if you are a little tight on space. And this faucet will tackle that problem for you.

However, you might have to deal with the water splashing issue, and the faucet would be placed a bit higher than the regular ones. Also, the water line might be a bit difficult to get to some time.
